BASIC BELIEFS THE SCRIPTURES: We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired Word of God and declare His design and plan for mankind. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20, 21) GOD: We believe there is only one living and true God. There are three persons in the Godhead: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:2, 27; Matthew 28:19; I John 5:7) JESUS CHRIST: We believe Jesus Christ, conceived of the Virgin Mary, is the only begotten Son of the Father. Jesus was crucified, buried and rose from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor. (Luke 1:26-33; Hebrews 7:25) FALL OF MAN: We believe though originally good, man willingly fell to sin-ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world. SALVATION: We believe every person can have restored fellowship with God through ‘salvation’ (accepting Christ’s offer of forgiveness for sin). BAPTISM: We believe in water Baptism by immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 3:11; Matthew 28:18-19; John 14:6) BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gives utterance, to be the initial evidence of this experience. SANCTIFICATION: We believe sanctification initially occurs at salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christ like. HEALING: We believe in divine healing of the sick which is provided for in Christ's atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins). However we encourage and do not condemn medical science. BLESSED HOPE: We believe in the blessed hope-when Jesus raptures His church prior to His return (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from the their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. (Acts 1:10, 11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 1:7) PRAISE AND WORSHIP: We believe in worshiping the Lord in Spirit and in truth, with all of our hearts and with all of the means revealed in the Bible, showing our love with expressive demonstration of thanksgiving, joy, and praise. FAMILY: We believe in the sacredness of marriage between one man and one woman and family commitment. We promote strong family values. ALL PEOPLE: We believe that people of every race, age, and background are made in God’s image and are meant to be loved, pastored, and presented with God’s good news. |
